About places / 2008-2010
Migrating, journeys, frequent change of place are part of my life what is reflected in my artistic work. About places is a series of works inspired by a number of places which I translated into my own language of painting. Starting with a real motif I transform it into abstraction. My starting point was a square format of canvas.
At first I made tiny works (20 x 20 cm) which make an autonomous part of this series and sometimes are a sketch of larger works (120 x 120 cm). During exhibitions I often place may works in lines or in bit bigger squares. Majority of works was painted in strong, energetic colours, however there are also works in white (especially: About places - para-mathematically) that were a part of my graduation work and a kind of colouristic experiment.
